Why it matters
The Jubilee is Rolex's five-link bracelet, dressier and more supple than the Oyster. It was introduced in 1945 for the Datejust and now appears across the lineup, including sport models like the GMT-Master II Batgirl. Many buyers choose between Jubilee and Oyster purely on feel and look.
In listings, the bracelet is a price and desirability factor, not just a detail. The same GMT can be a Batman on Oyster or a Batgirl on Jubilee. Confirm which bracelet a watch wears, whether it is factory, and whether both are included.
Common questions
- What is a Jubilee bracelet?
- The Jubilee is Rolex's five-link bracelet, introduced in 1945 for the Datejust. It is dressier and more flexible than the three-link Oyster.
- Jubilee or Oyster, which is better?
- Neither is objectively better; it comes down to preference. The Jubilee is dressier and more supple, the Oyster sportier and more rigid. The same watch can even sell under different nicknames depending on which bracelet it wears.
