- 2Pack to the standard
The gold standard is double box, double label, with every seam taped. Declare the value at the deal price or the replacement value.
- 3Drop off and ship insured
Drop at a FedEx location so you get a receipt and it is on camera. Signature is required on delivery, and you can hold the package at a FedEx location so nothing sits on a porch.
Coverage is built for high-value items: watches, jewelry, diamonds, and more. The maximum declared value on a single shipment is $150,000. Above that, contact ShipIFS so it can go armored.
Pricing is a set percentage off retail FedEx plus a percentage based on how much insurance you want. As a rough example, an overnight package with $10,000 of insurance runs around $100. Moda members get a discount, and Real Watch Buyers members get the highest tier.
Signature is required on delivery, and you can route the package to hold at a FedEx location for pickup with ID, so it never sits unattended at a door.
Claims pay out quickly. The slowest part is FedEx formally deeming a package lost, which can take three days to three weeks. Keep your drop-off receipt.
ShipIFS ships internationally and can handle the customs side for you. You decide whether the buyer or the seller covers duties. It can also insure a loose diamond or gold once your account is set up for it.
