Why it matters
FS (For Sale) is the most basic listing tag, telling readers the post is a straight sale. It is often paired with the price and condition right in the opening line. In moderated groups, the FS or WTS tag is frequently required for a sale post to be approved.
A complete FS post includes reference, year, condition grade, what is included, and an asking price. Listings missing any of those draw questions before offers. If you are buying from an FS post by a stranger, treat payment safety the same as any deal: references or a middleman.
Common questions
- What does FS mean in watch listings?
- FS stands for For Sale. It marks a post as a straight sale, usually alongside the price, reference, and condition.
- What is the difference between FS and WTS?
- They mean nearly the same thing. FS (For Sale) and WTS (Want To Sell) both indicate a sale post. Some communities prefer one tag over the other, but buyers can treat them as equivalent.
