The story
The Superocean Heritage B20 designates the current generation of Breitling's vintage-styled dive watch fitted with the Calibre B20, a movement built for Breitling on the Tudor Calibre MT5612 platform. The Superocean Heritage II collection this reference belongs to was launched in 2017, and the B20-equipped versions followed as part of the cooperation Breitling and Tudor's movement maker, Kenissi, announced that made Tudor's manufacture calibers available to Breitling in exchange for Breitling supplying its B01 chronograph architecture back to Tudor. Before the B20, Superocean Heritage models ran on Breitling's Calibre 17, built around a Sellita or ETA base movement with a shorter power reserve. Moving to the Tudor-based B20 gave the watch a 70 hour power reserve and COSC chronometer certification while keeping the Superocean Heritage's signature triangular hands, domed bezel insert and mesh bracelet design cues, which trace back to Breitling's original 1957 Superocean. The collection is offered in three case sizes, 42mm, 44mm and 46mm, all sharing the same B20 movement and general design.
