For dealers and traders
Where luxury watch dealers actually buy wholesale
Most dealer-to-dealer wholesale trading does not happen on a marketplace you can browse. It happens inside closed paid networks where the members already know each other, which is exactly why it is hard to find from the outside. Moda Clubs has run rooms like that since 2018, and this page explains how they work, what they cost and who can get in.

Why you cannot just find the wholesale market
A public marketplace has to show its listings to everyone, which means the price a dealer pays is visible to the customer who might otherwise pay retail. Dealers do not want that, so the real dealer-to-dealer trading moved into closed rooms: group chats, private forums and paid networks where membership is the filter. From outside, those rooms are close to invisible. That is a feature for the people in them and a wall for everyone else.
So the honest answer to where dealers buy wholesale is not a website you can shop. It is a room you have to get into, and the question worth asking is which rooms exist, what they cost, and what you have to show to be let in.
What a working dealer room looks like
Moda Clubs has run watch trading communities since 2018 out of Moda HQ in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Real Watch Buyers , founded in June 2019, is the paid trading network: 3,900+ collectors and dealers, 14 active WhatsApp chats, 550+ posts and more than 10,000 messages a day, and 96% of members renew each year.
There are no price-tier gates inside RWB, so a $5,000 piece and a $75,000 piece get posted in the same channel. Because members trade enough volume, the numbers posted there are real wholesale and dealer-side prices: what a watch actually sells for, rather than what a retail listing asks or an auction estimate suggests. Members can post a want-to-buy in the RWB chats, across the wider Moda watch network, or both, and they can trade the surrounding parts and accessories as well as whole watches.
What the dues actually buy is the team. Moda reviews every application before approval, sits in on deals when one side needs help, and steps in when something goes wrong. A bad deal inside RWB does not end with a ghost and a screenshot, because both sides still have to answer to the room and to the people running it.
The two levels, and what separates them
RWB costs the same to stay in at either level, $1,000 a year or $100 a month. The difference is the one-time initiation fee and what it opens.
Collector / Trader, $500 initiation
Built for collectors and part-time traders. Full posting access in RWB and across the Moda watch ecosystem, the Messenger chats you qualify for, collector-level WhatsApp chats as they have room, want-to-buy posts seen across the ecosystem, and onboarding from a real person. Most applicants apply here.
Dealer, $1,500 initiation
Built for full-time traders, brick-and-mortar dealers and anyone moving real volume, and it requires a resale license on file. It adds the dealer-only business-to-business WhatsApp chats organized by price tier, real-time wholesale data from inside the network, and dealer-to-dealer deal flow that does not surface anywhere outside.
Above both of them sits the Moda Dealer Alliance, the top paid tier for established dealers, at $5,000 a year or $500 a month with no initiation fee. It is capped at 250 dealers across the whole ecosystem because the room runs on a single Facebook Messenger chat that holds exactly that many people, so once it is full the only way in is somebody leaving. The bar is volume on the order of $1,000,000 a month, a real business with a resale certificate, reviews and references that can be checked, and five current members willing to vouch for you.
MDA members get at least 200 fresh watch leads a week to bid on. Every Monday, Quick Sale Hour texts Moda's 50,000+ retail list asking members to sell their watches to MDA dealers, and the room bids on what comes back. Buyer posts that cannot publish publicly route into the chatroom instead of dying. Membership also includes $250 a month in auction fee credits, pre-approval to post across the watch groups, and a dealer page on this site, built on request.
How you actually get in
An RWB application starts from the free Moda Watch Club group. On top of a current membership there, you need either one completed deal in the Moda watch network, on either side of it, or a positive reference from a current RWB member. The application asks for your name, contact, Facebook profile, how long you have been in watches and a few sentences of trading history.
The team reviews the history and runs a reference check against current Moda Watch Club members. Most decisions land within a few days. If you are approved, a payment link comes by email for the initiation plus your first dues, and then a real person walks you through where to post, which chats to join and how reference checks run. Nobody pays before being approved.
If it turns out not to be a fit, tell the team within 30 days and the initiation and first dues are refunded with no follow-up questions. That is the same guarantee on every paid Moda membership. After 30 days, dues are non-refundable for the period already paid, and plans renew automatically until you cancel by contacting info@modaclubs.com.
What a membership does not do
It is worth being plain about the limits, because the searches that lead here often ask for a network of checked-out dealers. Moda reviews every application, requires a resale license at the dealer level, and keeps its own team in the deals. It does not publish a badge certifying anyone, and it is not a substitute for your own judgment about who you are wiring money to. What changes inside a room like this is that reputation has somewhere to live: trades you close show up across the rest of the network, so a new counterparty can read your history before the first message, and so can you read theirs.
Common questions
- Where do luxury watch dealers buy wholesale?
- In closed dealer networks rather than on public marketplaces. A dealer who trades full time is usually in one or more paid rooms where other dealers post inventory and want-to-buy lists to each other. Moda Clubs runs two of them: Real Watch Buyers (RWB), a paid trading network of 3,900+ collectors and dealers, and the Moda Dealer Alliance (MDA), the top tier for established dealers, capped at 250 members.
- How much does it cost to get into a wholesale watch network?
- Inside Moda, RWB is $1,000 a year or $100 a month, plus a one-time initiation fee of $500 at the Collector / Trader level or $1,500 at the Dealer level. MDA is $5,000 a year or $500 a month with no initiation fee, and applying is free. You pay only after an application is approved, and every paid Moda membership carries a 30-day money-back guarantee.
- What makes a dealer-to-dealer room more liquid than a public listing site?
- Volume in one place and people who already trade with each other. RWB runs 14 active WhatsApp chats with 550+ posts and 10,000+ messages a day, and the dealer level adds business-to-business chats organized by price tier. Because the trades happen in front of the same few thousand members, you can read how someone handled past deals before you send money.
- Do I need a resale license to join?
- For the RWB Dealer level, yes: it requires a resale license on file. The Collector / Trader level does not. MDA asks for a resale certificate, a real business with reviews and references that can be checked, volume on the order of $1,000,000 a month, and five current MDA members willing to vouch for you.
- Does Moda check the people in these rooms?
- The team reviews every application before approval and runs a reference check against current Moda Watch Club members, and the RWB Dealer level requires a resale license on file. Moda does not publish a badge saying a member has been checked out, and no membership replaces your own due diligence on a counterparty. What the membership does give you is a team that sits in on deals when one side needs help and steps in when something goes wrong.
- Is there a dealer-to-dealer network for luxury jewelry too?
- The Moda watch rooms are the dealer-to-dealer trading side of the business. Moda also runs communities covering jewelry, diamonds and other luxury categories across an ecosystem of around 600,000 members, and the public directory lists the groups and the dealers in them.
- What happens if the network is not a fit?
- Tell the team within 30 days of joining and the initiation and the first dues are refunded, with no follow-up questions. After 30 days, dues are non-refundable for the period already paid, and yearly and monthly plans renew automatically until you cancel by contacting info@modaclubs.com.
