Is there a minimum value Moda buys?

Can I sell to Moda from outside the US?

Yes, as long as you have a bank account that accepts a USD wire. International sellers cover the shipping to Moda HQ.

Will my sale be posted in the groups?

No. Selling to Moda is private: your name and the sale are not posted in the groups.

How does Moda make sure a watch it buys is not stolen?

Moda runs a serial check on every watch it buys to confirm it has not been reported stolen and has no fake parts. Box and papers are usually enough proof of ownership, and some private sellers are asked to write a simple invoice.

How does a Serial Check work?

You send us the serial number and watch details. We run it through the brand's official manufacturer database (not third-party sources) and return factory information via SMS within 24 hours: stolen status, factory-original dial and bracelet config, warranty date, and movement serial. Pricing: Rolex $300, Audemars Piguet $350, Patek Philippe $850.

Which brands can you serial check, and can I get a refund?

Serial Checks are offered for Rolex, Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe. For another brand, put in a request through the contact form and the team will tell you whether it can be done. A check is not refundable, so double-check the serial before you order: a wrong serial comes back empty.

What is the Moda Middleman service?

A watch inspection and verification service for online deals between private parties. Seller ships to Moda HQ, our team inspects and produces a full condition report with timegraph data, buyer reviews everything, buyer pays the seller directly, then we ship the watch overnight to the buyer fully insured. While the watch is at Moda HQ, it is insured for its full value. Graham Moda reviews every inspection. Fee: 1% of the deal value with a $400 minimum, plus shipping.

Does Moda ever hold the purchase funds for a middleman deal?

No. The buyer pays the seller directly once they approve the condition report and photos. Moda never touches the purchase price at any point. We only collect our service fee. This is not an escrow service.

How long does a middleman deal take?

Most deals close in 2 to 3 days. Watches are inspected the same day they arrive at Moda HQ (Mon–Fri). All shipping is overnight. Typical flow: seller ships in the afternoon, we inspect the next morning, buyer reviews and wires payment, seller confirms, buyer has the watch on their wrist the following morning.

What happens if the buyer rejects a middleman deal after inspection?

The watch ships back the same day once both parties agree to the return. If the item is not as described by the seller, the seller defaults the middleman fee and pays return shipping, unless other terms were negotiated beforehand.

How do Moda Auctions work?

Full-service consignment. You ship the watch to us. We handle the inspection, photography, listing, and buyer coordination. Payment is coordinated to you, then we ship the watch overnight to the buyer with full insurance. 1,000+ auctions run. 99% sale completion rate. 60% of auctions close above estimate. Our estimates land within about 5% of the final result. Fee: 4% on watches over $10K ($750 minimum), flat $500 for pieces under $10K.

Are Moda auctions no reserve, and how long do they run?

Yes, every Moda auction is no reserve. Most run about 24 hours, and some are short flash auctions of 1 to 3 hours.

What happens if something goes wrong with an auction?

If we miss something during inspection that affects the buyer (a scratch, a discrepancy, anything), we handle it. Out of our fee, not yours. We're not going to come back to you over something we should have caught. Our name is on every transaction.

Can I just sell directly to Moda instead of going through auction?

Yes. We buy outright too. Text us the details and we'll make you a real offer. If the number works for you, ship the watch. We inspect it and wire your money within 24 hours.

Who inspects the watches?

Who can use these services?

Anyone. You don't need to be a member of the Moda Clubs Facebook groups to use Moda-lytics, request a Serial Check, sell us a watch, use the Middleman service, or consign an auction.

Why sell to Moda instead of Chrono24, eBay, or a pawnshop?

Selling to Moda is usually faster and pays more than a pawnshop, and simpler than listing it yourself on Chrono24 or eBay. Our overhead is low and our reach across the network is high, so we can pay strong and pay fast: an offer within hours, and payment within 24 hours of us receiving the watch, with the insured shipping label covered by us. You can always post it in the watch groups yourself instead, but selling to us is the quickest path to cash.

How am I protected when I ship my watch to you?

The shipment is fully insured on our label, both to us and back to you. If a watch is lost or damaged in transit, we pay you out and handle the claim. We agree on a price before anything ships, and that price rarely changes once it arrives. If it ever does, or if you simply decline our offer, the watch ships back to you free on our label.

Do I need the box and papers, and what condition do you buy?

No box or papers needed. We buy watches that are modified or have aftermarket parts (just not our strongest buyer on those), and even scratched, dented, or non-running pieces. We also buy whole collections. Tell us what you have and we will make an offer. Moda has bought a 310-watch collection in a single purchase.

Can you take a trade-in or pay off my existing loan?

Yes to both. We take trade-ins as credit, up or down, toward another piece. And if you still owe a bank loan on the watch, we can pay off the loan directly and pay you the remaining equity. Share the details and we will structure it.

Do you repair or restore watches too?

Moda's own team buys, sells, and runs middleman deals and auctions, but does not do repair work. Elite Watch Co, an official Moda vendor, handles Rolex bracelet repair, movement service, and custom dial and bezel work, and keeps your original bracelet instead of forcing a replacement.

Can I buy a watch from Moda?

Yes. Moda lists the watches it is selling on Instagram at @modaclubs and inside the Moda watch groups; this website does not carry an inventory list. Looking for a specific reference?
