The Nautilus Annual Calendar, reference 5726, was introduced in 2010 as the first Nautilus to combine an annual calendar with a moon phase display, bringing genuine complication to Gerald Genta's 1976 sports watch design for the first time. The reference paired the Nautilus case with Patek's Caliber 324 S QA LU 24H, an automatic movement adding an annual calendar, which needs correcting only once a year at the end of February, along with moon phase and a 24-hour indicator to the base 324 movement architecture. The current dial configuration, 5726/1A-014, dates to 2019, when Patek Philippe discontinued the earlier black-dialed 5726/1A-001 and white-dialed 5726/1A-010 steel bracelet versions in favor of a blue sunburst dial with a black gradient rim, a look that echoes the tropical blue-to-black dial fade found on the original 1976 Nautilus reference 3700.
